Administration and Dosage: 

Children 3-6 years old: 1 puff, 3-6 times a day.
Children 6-12 years old: 2 puffs, 3-6 times a day.
Adults: 3 puffs, 3-6 times a day.

Drug interactions: 

Concurrent use of this medicine with antacid drugs is prohibited.
Concurrent use of this medicine with hormonal drugs, may cause an interaction in estrogen and progesterone receptors activities.
Thymex spray may increase 5-fluorouracil absorption.

Contraindications and precautions: 

Adverse effects
Irritation of gastrointestinal mucous membrane, menstrual spotting and contact dermatitis in case of contact with the skin.

When NOT to take it 
•    Avoid taking this medicine in severe digestive problems, urinary tract inflammation, renal inflammatory diseases and History of allergy to thyme.
•    Use this medicine in patients with thyroid disease with caution, because it may decrease the level of thyroid hormones.

Thing you must do
•    Precipitation in herbal solution does not reduce its therapeutic effect. Shake bottle well before use.

Mechanism of Action: 
The antitussive and expectorant effects of Thymex are possibly due to its volatile oils that increase ciliary movement and mucous excretion in the respiratory tract.
Active Ingredients and Components : 
Thymex spray is made from standardized extract of the aerial parts of Thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.). Each 100ml of the spray contains about 32 mg total phenolic compounds based on thymol. The extract of Thymus vulgaris contains volatile oil. The volatile oil is yellow and its amount varies between 1-2%. The chief components of the volatile oil are thymol, carvacrol and P-cymene. The extract of the plant also contains tannin, flavonoids, saponin, and bitter compounds.
